What to do if my product has a grainy/gritty texture:
Using all natural products can sometimes mean summer is not our friend. Temperature fluctuations can cause your butters, balms and salves to get grainy or gritty. If this has happened to you, don't worry; it's perfectly natural. What happens is the butter melts then cools slowly causing it to crystallize. It does not affect the quality of the product or degrade it in any way: when you apply the product it will melt on to the skin as normal. If you want to avoid this you can store your product in a cool area or in the fridge. If your product has already become gritty you can re-melt the entire jar in a double boiler on a low heat. Once the contents have been melted pour them back into the jar and put in the fridge to cool quickly.
